Wine Picks for Dec. 16th

Cuvaison Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder - Napa Valley

Under $35

"A beautiful Cabernet, whose mountain origins show in the firm tannins and concentrated blackberry and black currant fruit. Notes of minerals and violets complicate things, as does rich oak. Very fine and delicious."

-The Wine Enthusiast

Frank Family Chardonay - Napa Valley 2009

Under $30

Unashamedly “old style” California Chardonnay! Vanilla and peaches in the bouquet, the palate shows a ripe rich fruit, mouth coating quality. This is the style that made California Chardonnay famous.

Buehler Cabernet Sauvignon - Napa Valley 2008

A real steal and one of the greatest sleepers I have tasted from Napa (the Mecca for expensive Cabernet Sauvignons) is Buehler's 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon from their vineyards in Napa Valley. There are only 1,800 cases of this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, so this offering is likely to disappear quickly from the marketplace. It offers a dark ruby/purple-tinged color, abundant black currant, licorice and smoky tobacco leaf characteristics, medium to full body, a supple, velvety style and impressive purity, texture and length.
